A number of features helpful or required for other parts of our application that we need to proxy through Render are only supported if we can use IPv6, including efforts to implement server-sent events and real-time event queue management from our DBM. We've had to spend significant dev energy implementing less effective alternatives, e.g. web sockets or manual polling because this feature is lacking.

While largely we've had a great experience with Render, this gap has several times caused us to evaluate whether self-hosting would be a better experience for us at this point in our operations. Furthermore I see in various forums that this item has been asked for repeatedly and is hypothetically in a backlog of feature request. I simply want to make the point that it is a roadblock with real impact and should be prioritized soon. We would like to continue using Render, but need some progress to be made on this point.
