Add a billing only user/separation of clients
in progress

As a solo developer, in the past, I could create a team per client. Then I could add the client as a user so they could add their credit card.
With the new pricing structure, if I create a team per client, I'd get charged per team even though I'm the only developer on each. And if I add a client as a user just so they can add their own billing info, now that team gets charged for two users.
Can we get the ability to add a free billing only user to teams?
And ideally in combination with this:
Though this may be ideal (being able to designate a group of resources to bill to specific clients, on a free individual plan):
Thanks!

The current pricing setup is a speedbump in the small/independent agency model. Grouping resources by project was a huge win in segmenting costs, but the user-seat model is an unnecessary overhead for small shops with multiple clients.
In my case, I simply add up the costs and pass through outside of Render, but would prefer to simply have them billed directly and provide project-based access.

I have this issue too. My boss would have gone with Render if we just had to pay for our application fees. But a 38 charge a month just so he can pay for it securely? sounds like a rip off so we have just gone with a different hosting solution

I share this same issue and it's the main thing stopping me from deploying new clients projects with Render.
Aside from the client being able to add their own billling information, I find it best to have clients be the owner of their own account and have the option to remove me as developer if needed. I try not to handle any passwords or billing information for my clients.

I've just run into this. I'm a solo developer working with small businesses and it seems render is just not set up for this. $38/month before service costs just to allow them to be a billing user is nuts.

I'm in the same boat.
Additionally, a system to recover the Team when the primary fails would be a good thing to include (what if I walk under a bus?).
