We are at the project planning stage now. We would love to have Render for everything we have seen but the cross region traffic latency between Singapore and NZ gives us no choice to but to move on to Digital Ocean instead. Anurag Goel if you can give us an ETA as to when an Australia region will be added, I will love to start with Render even though only Singapore is available.

We’re hosting several client projects on Render, and some of our Australian clients are required by government regulations to keep all data and servers within Australian soil.
Currently, Render only offers regions like Oregon, Ohio, and Singapore. Could you please consider adding a Sydney (Australia) region? This is essential for us to stay compliant while continuing to scale our applications (around 3,000 users expected).
Appreciate your great service and hope you can support this need soon!

We are a Heroku Private Space customer with AU data requirements. We can’t consider moving to render without an AU region.

Is this ever actually going to happen? it was marked as 'Planned' in 2021!
What is the point of this 'roadmap'? it seems to bear no relation to what actually happens

Any updates on this? We tried using SG but will not work due to the nature of requirements hosting Australian data.
Its a shame because Shopify does also recommend Render however the lack of aus servers is forcing us to move client apps

This is necessary for any Australian businesses to use this service: data sovereignty is necessary to do ANY government work, and even if you don't work with public services today, there's a good chance you will in future. As a result not having actual data centers based in AU is an immediate killer.
Render is really holding itself back from gaining anything other than small businesses and hobbyists in Australia. I know if i personally built a small app or SAAS on render, if it actually gained traction and grew to a decent size, I'd probably immediately have to move to another host due the above.
